Double header on Canada Day sees new arrivals in GT20 Canada

Double Header Matchday action continues in GT20 Canada on “Canada Day” on 01st Jul 2018 with Vancouver Knights set to take on Winnipeg Hawks in the first game followed by the match between Edmonton Royals and CWI “B” Team.

Both Edmonton Royals and CWI “B” Team notched up their first wins on 30th Jun 2018 against Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers respectively and will be looking forward to take the lead in the points table.

Edmonton Royals will be further boosted by the arrival of Ireland International Kevin O’Brien in their ranks ahead of their 2nd game. Kevin had recently played against India in two T20I’s with his National Team and will be a handy asset to have in the starting XI.

As predicted by Czarsportz, the likes of Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Obed McCoy, Khary Pierre and Shamar Springer came good against Montreal Tigers in their opening game and will again be the key for CWI “B” Team against Edmonton Royals.

Afghanistan’s Najibullah Zadran will also be arriving shortly in Canada for the tournament and he updated his travel status on his twitter timeline.

Winnipeg Hawks will be expecting Australia’s David Warner to come good in the second match and with him firing at the top of the order, WH will go a long way in securing a win over Vancouver Knights.

The wicket at Maple Leaf Cricket Club is starting to show signs of wear and tear after the first three days of action and slow bowlers will start to come in their own going forward. So expect a lot of slower deliveries and cutters form the pace bowlers as well as outright pace has been taken to the cleaners in this tournament so far.
