Caribbean Premier League has always been a good platform for Americas region players to play alongside International stars from West Indies and across the globe.
Keeping in line with the tradition, 5 players from USA and 1 player from Canada were drafted into various CPL franchises during the player draft held in London on 22nd May 2019.
Of all the players selected in the 2018 edition from USA and Canada, Ali Khan was the one who made most of the headlines for Trinbago Knight Riders, as he won the 2018 title with them.
The remaining selected players got few games under their belts but the returns were modest. The 2019 draft picks from USA and Canada will however, play as local players as part of their respective franchises and not under overseas quota.
Ali Khan was retained by Trinbago Knight Riders. Hayden Walsh Jr was picked up by Barbados Tridents, Saurabh Netravalkar by Guyana Amazon Warriors, Xavier Marshall by Jamaica Tallawas, Aaron Jones by SKN Patriots and Nitish Kumar by St.Lucia Stars.
