2018 Asia Cup schedule has been announced with India and Pakistan set to be in the same group during the round-robin phase. The third team in their group will be the qualifying country from the Asia Cup qualifiers to be held in Malaysia from 29th Aug – 06th Sep, 2018.
The winner of the Asia Cup Qualifiers, to be competed between UAE, Nepal, Hong Kong Kong, Oman, Singapore and Malaysia will join India and Pakistan in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh & Afghanistan clubbed together in Group B. 2018 Asia Cup will be played in the 50-overs format.
Top 2 team’s from each group will form the Super 4 phase where each team will play the remaining three once. Top 2 team’s after the conclusion of the Super 4 phase will then qualify for the Asia Cup Final. India and Pakistan can potentially play 3 matches during the same tournament if they both qualify from the group stage and Super 4 stage.
The Asia Cup has been shifted to UAE after Pakistan’s request to have the venue shifted was agreed upon with BCCI hosting the tournament in the Emirates country rather than at home. The main draw of the Asia Cup will be held between Sep 15th – 28th in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The Final of the Asia Cup qualifiers, scheduled on 06th Sep 2018 will be broadcasted live on Star Sports network.

The Asia Cup qualifiers Final will also be streamed live on the Hotstar platform of Star Network. The league phase matches will not be broadcasted live and one hopes that either Asian Cricket Council or Malaysian Cricket Association are able to arrange some sort of Live stream on their facebook pages as the demand for viewership is more from countries like Nepal, UAE and Oman.
