Finland men’s national squad announced for home T20I series against Sweden

Cricket Finland have announced a 14-member men’s national squad for the upcoming 4-match home T20I series against the visiting Sweden men’s team from August 20th – 22nd, 2021 at the National Cricket Field of Kerava.

This will be the first official T20I meeting between the two countries, having last played against each other during the 2017 Nordic-Baltic tournament involving Estonia as the third team held at the same venue. Finland men’s squad made their T20I debut at home in August 2019, when they hosted Spain for a 3-match series.

All the four games in the T20I series will be live streamed on Cricket Finland’s YouTube channel. The same squad will again travel to Spain in September 2021 to take part in the inaugural edition of European Cricket Championships at Cartama oval in the T10 format, which is being organized by European Cricket Network (Ecn.cricket).

Cricket Finland have had to deal with the disappointment of having lost out on the opportunity to host two ICC European sub-regional qualifiers this year due to COVID-19 pandemic situation and the home series will bring some cheer to the players and the coaching/support staff, as they have been playing only domestic cricket at home in the past couple of months.
