Finland announce Finnish T10 to continue viewership momentum

Buoyed by the success of their domestic T20 league and the growing viewership numbers via European Cricket Network’s / Fancode coverage, Cricket Finland have announced the launch of Finnish T10 competition, with the first round of matches to be played on 07th Jun 2020.

12 domestic clubs will be taking part in the T10 competition, unlike the T20 structure, where the clubs are segregated in the premier league division and division 1 competition. Bengal Tigers Cricket Club, Empire Cricket Club (Empire Odds and Empire Evens), Greater Helsinki Cricket Club, GYM Helsinki Gymkhana, Helsinki Cricket Club, SKK Stadin ja Keravan Kriketti (SKK Strikers T10) and Vantaa Cricket Club will be joined by Otaniemi Cricket Club (Otaniemi United T10), Turku United, Club ’71 Kriketti and FinCricket Club in the tournament.

SKK Stadin ja Keravan Kriketti are the defending Champions from the 2019 edition of the national T10 championship, where they defeated Helsinki Cricket Club in the final. Bengal Tigers and Vantaa made it through to the semi-final stages from the group-stage format, where teams were divided into two groups of four teams each and the matches were played in the 12-overs-a-side format. Even in the 2019 edition, 12 teams took part in the qualifying event before the top eight teams advanced to the main championship.
