As per the strategic agreement signed between France Cricket and New Caledonia National Cricket Committee in March 2024, France Cricket will be hosting the Inaugural edition of Women’s Four Nations Cup T20 International tournament (with ICC ranking points) from 10th – 14th, March 2025 at the NDU Central ground in Noumea, New Caledonia. Women’s National teams of Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa and France will be competing in the tournament, which will see the French Women’s team comprising of New Caledonian players in majority. The National trials for New Caledonian Women players are already underway and selections will be made in due course of time.
The strategic agreement aims to promote the regional influence of New Caledonian cricket through the implementation of action programs aimed at stimulating international cricket practices in the three provinces. In addition, the agreement facilitates the selection of New Caledonian players within French teams and promotes collaboration in the integration of New Caledonian cricket into international governing bodies. France Cricket is committed to working closely with the New Caledonia National Cricket Committee to improve various aspects, with specific focus on improving the administrative framework, enhancing high-level training programs and promoting school cricket initiatives to engage young audiences and democratize the sport.
