France crowned champions of Women’s T20I Quadrangular series

France Women were crowned winners of the Women’s T20I quadrangular series held at home from Jul 31st – Aug 03rd, 2019. The tournament, featuring Women’s squads from Jersey, Norway and Austria competing with the host’s in a double round-robin format league phase, saw France win five matches out of six to finish on top of the points table and win the tournament.

The France Women only loss in the tournament came against Jersey Women, who had a good outing as well, winning four matches out of their six games. Austria Women registered two wins to finish third in the points table, while Norway Women had a solitary win in their six games to finish at the bottom of the points table. Apart from Jersey Women (who made their T20I debut against Guernsey Women during InfrasoftTech Inter-Insular T20I Cup), all the remaining countries were making their debut’s in Women’s T20I matches.

Andrea-Mae  (AustrZepedaia) with 125 runs & 8 wickets and Jennifer King (France) with 101 runs & 7 wickets were the stand-out performers during the tournament. The player of the tournament award was given to France Women captain Emmanuelle Brelivet, who picked up 10 wickets during the tournament, apart from contributing 57 runs with the bat as well. Lily Greig (Jersey) was the second highest run-scorer in the tournament with 104 runs to her name.

Among the rest of the bowlers in the top bracket, Chloe Greechan (Jersey) and Flo Tanguy (Jersey) picked up 8 wickets in the tournament, followed by Analise Merritt (Jersey), Isabelle Costaz-Puyou (France) and Rose Hill (Jersey), who all picked up 7 wickets each.
