France Cricket have announced their 14-member Women’s national squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup Europe region qualifiers from August 25th – 31st, 2021 at La Manga club in Spain. France Women will be making their maiden appearance at an ICC-level tournament, and also will get the opportunity to play their first WT20I game against a full-member country, Ireland, during the qualifiers.
France Women will play against Ireland Women, Scotland Women, Netherlands Women, Germany Women and Turkey Women in the qualifiers, with the top team advancing to the Global qualifiers. However, the best 2nd placed team among all the five regional qualifiers (Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia and East Asia-Pacific) will also get the final spot in the global qualifiers. France Women will play their first game against Netherlands on 26th, followed by Germany game on 27th, Ireland and Scotland games on the 29th and will conclude their campaign with the game against fellow debutants Turkey on the 30th.
France Women toured Germany to play a bi-lateral series in July 2021, having made their WT20I debut in 2019 during a 4-nation quadrangular tournament held at home.
