Domestic Franchises from South Africa and Australia join 4th edition of Japan Women’s Premier League

Japan Cricket Association (JCA) will be hosting the fourth (4th) edition of the Women’s Premier League competition from May 25th to 31st, at the Sano International Cricket Ground. This year’s edition will see the addition of a new team, making it a four (4)-team event. Domestic franchise team from Australia, ACT Meteors, will be joining the Titans franchise team from South Africa, with teams of Mamushi (Defending Champions from the 3rd edition of the tournament) and Pacific Rays.

Japan Women will have a busy International calendar this year, that includes the Asian Games 2026 competition, and the JWPL (Japan Women’s Premier League) will give the opportunity for the domestic/international players to play alongside overseas professionals from Australia, South Africa and other Full members.

The long-running T20 franchise league in the USA, Houston Open, returns to the spotlight as it gears up for its 2026 edition at the Prairie View Cricket Complex, scheduled from April 13th to 19th, 2026. This year’s tournament will feature a strong mix of Minor League Cricket (MiLC) franchises alongside several USA Men’s National Team players, all set to represent their respective teams in what promises to be a competitive showcase.

Player Grading (Tournament Fee)

Elite (1500 USD)
USA capped players, MLC contracted players, players formerly capped with an Associate Nation in ICC-approved tournaments, and players who have represented a Test-playing nation at the international level (ODIs/Tests/T20Is) or at First-Class level.
Platinum (1000 USD)
Players who were part of a MiLC franchise squad during the 2025 season, or represented the USA U19 national team at the U19 World Cups in 2024 or 2026.
Gold (500 USD)
Players participating in city-level leagues.

Uganda Cricket to organize Waterfalls Elite League T20 in January/February 2026

Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) will be hosting both Men’s and Women’s editions of Waterfalls Elite League T20 (Waterfalls T20) tournaments from January 27th – February 08th, 2026. The Women’s competition will take place from January 27th – February 01st, while the Men’s competition will take place from February 03rd – 08th at the Lugogo Oval ground. Both the competition will have three (3) franchise teams compete for the title, as the tournaments starts the 2026 season for the players, with lots of International commitments outlined in their Annual Calendar.

Uganda Men will be taking part in ICC World Cup / T20 World Cup qualification pathway tournaments (CWC Challenge League and Africa Sub-regional Qualifier), later this year.

Oman Men complete home preparation before T20 World Cup in D20 Super League

Oman Cricket (OC) will be hosting the D20 Super League from January 9th – 16th, 2026, serving as the final home preparation for the Men’s National Team ahead of their campaign in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup across India and Sri Lanka.

Five (5) teams will compete in this high-stakes T20 format event, building momentum right after the D20 tournament concluded on January 3, which was won by IAS Invincibles team.

Cricket Hong Kong to host Women’s All Stars Series in December 2025

Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) will be hosting the Women’s All Stars Series 2025 from December 12th – 14th at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground, with three (3) T20 matches to be played between the Jade Jets and Bauhinia Stars. Natasha Miles, the captain of Hong Kong, China women’s team, will lead the Jade Jets, while Maryam Bibi, the vice-captain of the women’s national team, will captain the Bauhinia Stars.

Hong Kong, China Women will be back in International action next year in the Qualification pathway tournament towards the 2026 ACC Women’s Asia Cup.

Nepal Premier League T20 2025 to take place in November/December

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) will be hosting the second (2nd) edition of Nepal Premier League T20 tournament (NPL T20) from 17th November 2025 – 13th December 2025, at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur (Kathmandu). The tournament will feature a single round-robin group stage format, involving the teams, namely Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Janakpur Bolts (Defending Champions), Karnali Yaks, Kathmandu Gorkhas, Lumbini Lions, Pokhara Avengers, Sudurpaschim Royals. The knock-out stages will follow the group stage, with the Final scheduled to take place on 13th December 2025.

With CAN getting the ground ready with floodlights, NPL T20 will mark a historic moment in Nepal Cricket’s history with day-night matches taking place for the first time in the country, and will be a massive advantage in getting hosting rights for International tournaments (both ICC and Asian Cricket Council) in the coming future. Some of the major names in the Franchise T20 leagues globally have signed up with the teams and will help the league get more attention globally, and improve it’s case to be considered for List-A status from next year’s edition.

The 2025 Atlanta Open T20 tournament will be taking place from October 07th – 12th, 2025 at the Paramveers Sports complex in Rydal, Georgia. This year’s teams line-up include franchise teams competing in the Minor League Cricket (MiLC) competition in the USA, namely, Atlanta Lightning, Atlanta Fire, Kingsmen and Seattle Thunderbolts, among other participating teams. Clarion Eagles are the Defending Champions from last year’s edition, after winning the Final against The Kingsmen.

The ten (10) participating teams have been divided into two (2) groups of five (5) teams each, with a single round-robin group stage format, followed by the knock-out stages from 10th October. Minor League Cricket (MiLC) 2025 enters Play-off’s stage

The fifth (5th) edition of Minor League Cricket (MiLC) will be starting from August 2025 and will see twenty-six (26) teams across United States compete in regional conferences, resulting in more than 150+ T20 matches across the season before the Finale week. The player draft for the league was conducted 04th August 2025, with all the team drafting their squads, and left few slots open, which they will fill up with domestic wildcard players and free agents (domestic or overseas professionals). MiLC is the back-bone of USA Cricket domestic structure, and also acts as a pivotal feeder system for franchises selecting domestic talent for Major League Cricket (MLC) tournaments. The Super8 stage and the FINALS will be taking place at the Church Street Park oval in Morrisville from October 30th.

All four (4) editions held in MiLC so far have seen four (4) different winners, with Silicon Valley Strikers (2021), Seattle Thunderbolts (2022), Dallas Mustangs (2023) and Chicago Kingsmen (2024) being the Champions. Chicago Kingsmen franchise will be taking part in 2025 Top End T20 tournament to be held in August 2025 in Darwin, Australia, and will be playing against the Academy teams of Big Bash League (BBL) franchises and also against International teams (Nepal, Pakistan A and Bangladesh A).

Malaysia Cricket to host 3rd edition of Super Women Series in September 2025

The Malaysian Super Women League/Series (YSD Malaysian Super Women Series) is back for it’s third (3rd) edition from September 18th – 30th, 2025 at Borneo Cricket Ground, Kuching in Sarawak. The tournament organized by Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) is being sponsored by Yayasam Sime Darby and will feature five (5) teams, namely Western Wonder Women, Southern Jaguars, Northern Queens, Eastern Lioness, and Central Super Girls.

The inaugural edition held in 2020 featured players from six (6) countries, while the 2024 edition saw participation of players from nine (9) different countries. Northern Queens team were the Defending Champions from the inaugural edition, while Western Wonder Women won the 2nd edition Title and will defend it this time around. A total of 40 players from Malaysia and 35 players from seven (7) ICC Associate nations have been divided into five (5) teams for the YSD Malaysian Super Women Series 2025.

Kuwait Cricket to host DP World ILT20 Development Tournament in September 2025

The ILT20, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and Kuwait Cricket entered a strategic partnership in June 2025, which is aimed at the growth and promotion of the sport in Kuwait. The inaugural edition of the DP World ILT20 Development Tournament – Kuwait, from September 04th – 12th, at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground, featuring four (4) teams, namely Failaika Guardians, Pearl Strikers, Kuwait Falcons and Boubyan Warriors.

The tournament starts right after the National team returns back from Jersey, after competing their campaign in the 2nd round of 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group A. All the squads were selected through a payer draft held on 08th August. As per the agreement, selected player from this event will be chosen to be part of player auction for ILT20 Tournament in UAE.
