Value-add for Associates with CoachEd by Gary Kirsten

CoachEd, the online coaching platform founded by South African legend Gary Kirsten has been improving by leaps and bounds in the past couple of years, with coaches from well known established clubs from around the globe and Associate member countries unlocking it’s potential to take the level of coaching to new heights.

The platform currently offers three options to the coaches. The Elite Accreditation is a 12-week course for coaches to engage with the best coaching minds and webinars to learn and improve themselves. The Accreditation option enables the coaches to also engage with fellow coaches and content in the CoachEd library, with the library being the third option which any coach can request access for, in which there are 11 modules for them to go through with at their own time and pace.

For subscription as low as $9 a month, coaches can access modules from batting, bowling, fielding and other aspects of cricket and coaching including leadership strategies and planning. Free membership is also available on the platform, giving access to all the free resources on the website. CoachEd contributes towards the development and education of cricket coaches and administrators from grassroots cricket through to elite cricket.

Another brilliant aspect about the platform are the availability of webinar series videos, which are hosted on various topics ranging from playing to management, and includes sessions taken by not only renowned coaches from across the globe like Rahul Dravid, Mahela Jayawardene, Andy Flower, Phil Simmons, Marcus Trescothick, Mickey Arthur, Eric Simons to name a few, but also by players currently part of International cricket like Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan, Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Morne Morkel, Daniel Christian, Mithali Raj and any more.

So far, Cricket Board’s of Bermuda and Sweden have partnered with the platform to assist qualified coaches in domestic clubs and elite coaches for their High-Performance Programme. The Boards will incorporate the digital trainings as part of their strategic plans to help coaches get coaching licenses, which will in turn help them to apply for better opportunities at home and abroad.

Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) have also joined the program now, with five people from various domestic clubs in Jersey nominated to go through with the program, in a bid to improve coaching and learning skills for both coaches and players at the junior level age-group programs.

Gary Kirsten has emphasized on the fact that Associate cricket board personnel and coaches can benefit a lot with the resources available on CoachEd. While the platform does not provide analysis of any video sessions made by the people who take the course, to get feedback on it, Kirsten has said that tours to Associate member countries is very much a possibility in the near future, depending upon the travel restrictions in place due to COVID-19 pandemic.
