Germany begin 2020 season with visit to Spain for T20I series

The Men’s German National Cricket team are touring Spain to begin their 2020 season, in which they will be eyeing European glory after narrowly missing out on the opportunity to take part in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers in 2019, when they lost out to Jersey on net run-rate in the European regional finals in Guernsey. Germany will be travelling to Finland to compete against the host’s, Guernsey, Sweden, Luxembourg, Hungary, Gibraltal and Greece from Jun 24th – 30th, 2020 in Europe Qualifier C.

The squad, which contains English county first-class cricketers in Dieter Klein (Leicestershire CCC) and Michael Richardson (Durham CCC), will be taking part in training camps at Desert Springs Resort from 05th – 09th Mar, 2020. Germany will take on the Spanish national squad in two T20I matches on 08th Mar 2020, with ranking points on offer towards ICC T20I team rankings. The two matches between Spain and Germany will be played at 10:30am and 3:00pm local time.

Germany will be playing a warm-up match on 07th Mar 2020 against Shark CC from UK, who are also on a tour of Desert Springs. Sharks CC will also be facing Spanish domestic side Pinatar Pirates in a T20 match as well on 06th Mar 2020.
