Cricket South Africa (CSA) domestic franchise, Titans Cricket, are set to host the inaugural edition of Global Cricket Tournament (GCT) for Women players from January 04th – 06th, 2024 at the Main Cricket Oval at Irene Country Club in Guateng. The tournament will see Women’s teams from Eastern Storm, DP World Lions and Fidelity Titans compete for the title through a double round-robin group format, with each team comprising of four (4) marquee players, four (4) rookies, three (3) U23s and two (2) international overseas players.
For the inaugural edition, the overseas players taking part in the competition are from Cricket Namibia (CN) and Japan Cricket Association (JCA), with each team to feature one (1) player each from both the countries in their line-up. The Japanese Women taking part in the competition are Erika Oda, Elena Kusuda-Nairn and Akari Nishimura, while the Namibian Women taking part in the competition are Mezerly Gorases, Victoria Hamunyela and Mekelaye Mwatile.
