Greece men’s national squad have been crowned Champions of 2019 Hellenic Premier League, which saw 3 local clubs from Greece and the national squads from Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia take part, all matches being played at Marina cricket ground, Corfu from Oct 14th – 19th, 2019.
All the three national squads made their T20I debut’s during the tournament, in which each team played official T20I matches against each other during the group stages. Greece were viotrious in both their matches against Serbia and Bulgaria, while Bulgaria registered their maiden T20I win against Serbia in their group match. In the standalone T20I event as part of the tournament, Bulgaria defeated Greece in the final. Adrian Dunbar of Serbia became the first player from the country to score a T20I century, during the tournament.
As part of the overall HPL, from the other group consisting of local clubs comprising of non-Greek athletes namely Forge Athens Team, Pak Athens and Pak Corfu, Forge and Corfu finished on top 2 and qualified for the semi-final stage. In the first semi-final, Greece national squad defeated Pak Corfu, while Forge Athens defeated Bulgaria to reach the final of the tournament.
Greece defeated Forge Athens to win the tournament, while Bulgaria defeated Pak Corfu team to win the 3rd/4th play-off game.
