Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB) have announced that they have been given the hosting rights for the upcoming 2020 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe regional final qualifiers from Jun 13th – 21st, 2019.
Guernsey will be competing along with Jersey, Italy, Denmark, Norway and Germany in the 6-nation tournament for one qualification spot into the global qualifiers, to be held in Oct/Nov 2019. All matches in the tournament will be played with official T20I status and will take place at KGV Playing Fields and College Field grounds.
The fixtures and the timings details will be announced soon. Germany and Italy will be making their Men’s T20I team debut’s in May 2019 when they play each other in a 3-match T20I series in Netherlands (Germany will make their debut in Belgium 2-weeks prior to travelling to Netherlands, where they play the host’s in a 3-match T20I series).
All 6 qualifiers advanced from the European sub-regional tournament held in Netherlands, where 18 members took part, placed in three groups of 6 team’s each, from which the top 2 from each group qualified.
