High expectations from 2017 Alokozay Ahmad Shah Abdali tournament

Afghanistan’s domestic first-class tournament, Alokozay Ahmad Shah Abdali tournament, involving five teams will be played in Kabul, Nangarhar and Khost. It league group consists of 18 matches along with 2 semi-finals and the final that will be played from October 20th-19th December.

Teams from Amo, Band-e-Amir, Boost, Mis Ainak and Speen Ghar will compete in the 4-day first class tournament. The event carries more weight-age as Afghanistan are now a test member country and the domestic tournament will help them nurture future stars for their test teams.

“Development of domestic cricket helps development of our international cricket and it is the first-class tournament which builds on a player’s profile,” said Dawlat Ahmadzai, ACB’s domestic cricket development manager.

Afghanistan Cricket Board released the team squads for the tournament on their official twitter handle, @ACBOfficials

Mis-e-Ainak will be captained by Ghamai Zadran, Bost will be captained by Munir Ahmad, Band-e-Amir will be captained by Imran Janat, Speenghar will be captained by Shaukat Zaman & Amo will be captained by Abdullah Mazari.

All teams, officials & Board members came together to inaugurate the tournament in Kabul and the general consensus was to provide domestic players a sound first-class tournament to play and excel in.
