Cricket Hong Kong (CHK) have announced their 14-member Women’s national squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia regional qualifiers in UAE from November 18th – 29th, 2021.
Hong Kong Women will be competing against teams from Bhutan, UAE, Malaysia, Nepal and Kuwait in the 6-nation event, from which the top team will advance to the Global Qualifiers in 2022. This is the final regional event after the conclusion of tournaments in the Europe, Africa and Americas regions, while the East Asia-Pacific event was cancelled due to COVID-19.
The tournament will mark International return for Hong Kong Women, with their last competition being the Women’s East Asia Cup tournament held in 2019. The players have been playing domestic matches in the T20 format in the Women’s Super Series matches in the past couple of years now.
