ICC EAP beat New South Wales country to begin 50-overs campaign in style

ICC East Asia-Pacific men’s team are having their best run ever in the ongoing 2018 Toyota Australian Country Championships as they began their 50-overs campaign with a 58 runs victory over New South Wales country.

Batting first, ICC EAP team were bowled out for 250 in 49.4 overs. Good knocks of 47 runs each from Kipling Doriga and Dogodo Bau were the top contributions towards the team total with Nalin Nipiko also making 36 runs.

Cameo’s down the order by Jelany Chilia (17 n.o off 14) and Damian Ravu (17 off 15) took the team total to 250. Caleb Ziebell (2/14), Joseph Price (2/27), Simon Keen (2/40) and Ben Mitchell (2/58) collected 2 wickets apiece for New South Wales.

NSW didn’t get a good start as they lost Jake Moran, Simon Keen and Graeme Batty without converting their starts as they were reduced to 68/3 at one stage. Caleb Ziebell (23), Joseph Price (32), Ryan Fenning (32) and Tom Engelbrecht (23) got starts but could not convert them into bigger innings to take the team close to the target.

Nalin Nipiko (4/29) and Patrick Matautaava (3/30) were the main wrecker-in-chief for ICC EAP team as New South Wales got bowled out for 192 in 45 overs to lose the contest by 58 runs.
