What can Associate nations expect from ICC Future Tours Program (FTP) 2023-2027?

With the Full Member countries having finalized the Future Tours Program (FTP) for 2023-2027, the Associate Member countries will now be hoping for a fair share of fixtures for the next 3-4 years time, via the ICC qualification pathway tournaments towards ODI World Cup. The regional tournaments for qualification towards T20 World Cups would be one of the major events for most of the Associate member countries in the five respective regions.

Update: Netherlands get a solitary 3-match Men’s T20I series with Pakistan at home in May 2024 as part of FTP 2023-2027.

With the scrapping of ODI Super League as the qualification pathway towards the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Netherlands would most likely to clubbed alongside the seven (7) countries part of the CWC League 2 Championships for the next cycle. As per the originally announced ICC release in August 2019, The top four Associate Member countries outside of the Challenge League qualification pathway, which meet the criterion set by ICC and at a deadline in September 2023, will compete along with the bottom two sides each from Challenge League A and Challenge League B in an eight-team ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge Play-Off (Date TBC). The top four sides from the CWC Challenge Play-Off 2022 will be equally divided into the two CWC Challenge Leagues for the next edition, while the bottom four sides will drop out of the top 32.

The CWC League 2 and Challenge League qualification pathways will exist for the next cycle, and the FTP schedule for 2023-2027 will cover the schedule for the teams participating in the above mentioned tournaments. Bi-lateral or Multi-Nation series or matches outside of ICC qualification pathway events will depend upon the agreements between the Associate Member boards.
