For any domestic events/tournaments staged in an Associate member country, the organisers have to comply with the regulations specified by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in order to stage the events.
In a situation where the National Cricket Board of the particular Associate member country is in suspension, ICC has the full responsibility for deciding whether to sanction Domestic Matches within that National Cricket Board’s region unless and until its membership rights are fully restored/reinstated. In the current scenario for Nepal, all domestic tournaments are subjected to prior approval from ICC since the National Board (Cricket Association of Nepal) remains suspended until the membership is fully restored.
For domestic matches to be held in an Associate member, if any event involves more than four players who are active as a member of any National Representative Team of a Full Member or an Associate Member with ODI status other than the National Cricket
Board, where the matches are to be staged, the event needs mandatory approval from ICC before being staged.
The approval again depends on conditions such as that the matches or events must be played in accordance with and is subjected to codes of conduct, anti-corruption rules, anti-doping rules, and/or other rules, regulations, practices or procedures that are consistent with the rules, regulations, practices and/or procedures of the Sanctioning Body (ICC).
For countries where ICC will be the sanctioning body until the National Board is reinstated, the application which needs to be duly filled by the organisers seeking approval will be made available online on ICC’s website.
If the organisers fail to comply with any of the above mentioned guidelines specified by ICC for hosting domestic events/tournaments, the matches or event will be deemed as “Disapproved Cricket” by ICC.
