Schedule and groups announced for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia

International Cricket Council (ICC) will be hosting the second (2nd) edition of ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia (Thailand Cricket have withdrawn from co-hosting the tournament) from January 18th – February 02nd, 2025 across four (4) venues in the cities of Selangor, Johor and Sarawak. There will be in total of forty-one (41) games in the T20 World Cup, coupled with sixteen (16) warm-up fixtures before the start of the tournament proper. Malaysia U19 Women will be making their debut in the competition, as they have been given a direct entry as the host’s, and another ICC Associate member from the Asia region will join the main event through the qualifier.

We are fully confident that this World Cup will further accelerate that momentum, leading to significant developments in the sport, especially for women’s cricket. The matches will take place at premier venues including Bayuemas Oval and UKM YSD Oval in Selangor, Dato’ Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA) Oval in Johor, and the Borneo Cricket Ground in Sarawak. Malaysia is looking forward to hosting these future stars and contributing to their journey in the world of cricket.

Group A: India (A1), West Indies (A2), Sri Lanka (A3) and Malaysia (A4), playing at Bayuemas Oval in Selangor

Group B: England (B1), Pakistan (B2), Ireland (B3) and USA (B4) playing at Dato’ Dr. Harjit Singh Johor Cricket Academy (JCA Oval), Johor

Group C: New Zealand (C1), South Africa (C2), Nigeria (C3) and Samoa (C4) and playing at Borneo Cricket Ground, Sarawak

Group D: Australia (D1), Bangladesh (D2), Nepal (D3) and Scotland (D4) and playing at UKM YSD Oval in Selangor

At the conclusion of the group stages of the competition, the top three (3) teams from each of the four (4) groups will advance to the Super Six stage of the tournament. The top three (3) teams from Group A and Group D will be in one of the Super Six groups, while the other group will have the top three (3) teams from Group B and Group C. At the conclusion of the Super Six stage, the top two (2) teams from both the groups will advance to the semifinals of the tournament, and a step closer to becoming the winners of the 2nd edition (India U19 Women are the Defending Champions from the inaugural edition held in South Africa in 2022).
