Associate cricket continues to rewrite its own growth story — and this time, the spotlight shifts to Bali.
The Indonesia Cricket Association will host the Sweden men’s national team from April 07th – 13th, 2026 at the Udayana Cricket Ground, marking a landmark moment for both nations and the wider Associate cricket ecosystem. The bilateral series will feature eight (8) ICC-recognized T20 Internationals, with valuable T20I ranking points on the line. But beyond the numbers, this tour represents something far bigger: a clear sign that Associate Members are building their own global cricketing pathways.
For Sweden
- First ever tour outside Europe
- First cricket tour to Southeast Asia
- First bilateral series against an Asian/East Asia-Pacific Associate (Indonesia part of ICC EAP region and Asian Cricket Council)
For Indonesia
- First time facing a European national side
- Expansion beyond Asia & East Asia-Pacific opposition
This meeting is the first ever encounter between the two teams in international cricket. Over the past few years, a quiet but powerful shift has been happening in the Associate cricket landscape.
Instead of waiting for ICC global events, boards are:
- Creating bilateral tours independently
- Building cross-continental rivalries
- Increasing match volume outside qualification cycles
- Generating ranking opportunities year-round
This Indonesia–Sweden tour is another clear example of that momentum.
