USA Cricket are all set to host their maiden bi-lateral series against the visiting Ireland men’s national squad in the month of December 2021 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida, which is the ICC accredited venue for ODI and T20Is in the US. This will be the first time a Full member country will be touring USA to play against their men’s national squad for both ODI and T20I matches.
Ireland U19 squad, who were also scheduled to travel with the senior squad to the US to take part in a preparatory camp along with matches against USA U19 squad ahead of their participation in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup, will no longer be travelling as the said series has now been postponed. Ireland team will travel to Miami on 16th December and will play a warm-up T20 fixture on the 20th, before playing USA in a 5-match series comprising of two (2) T20Is and three (3) ODI matches from December 22nd – 30th. The last International game between the two countries took place in 2015 during the ICC T20 World Cup Global qualifiers in Ireland.
Many U19 players have been drafted into the senior squad for the T20I series due to some of the originally announced squad members being withdrawn owing to COVID-19 and injury concerns.
