Japan Cricket announce 20-man National squad for 2018 season

Based on the performances in the 2017 season along with National trials held during the 3rd week of Mar 2018, Japan Cricket Association has announced their 20-man national squad for the 2018 season. The squad members can get changed during the course of the year in which three official 2-day training camps are already planned for.

Japan Men’s National team will participate in the East Asia sub-regionals qualifiers for ICC World T20 in Dec 2018, to be hosted by Philippines and they will compete for 1 qualification spot in the Asia-Pacific regional Finals against Philippines, Korea and Indonesia.

The 2nd tournament scheduled for Japan Men’s national team will be the East Asia Cup, details and venues of which are yet to be decided.

Japan National Squad for 2018 season:

Raheel Kano, Shogo Kimura, Masaomi Kobayashi, Kohei Kubota, Rui Matsumura, Naotsune Miyaji, Wa, taru Miyauchi, Daichi Motoyama, Tomoki Ota, Muneeb Siddique Mian, Tsuyoshi Takada, Kazumasa Takahashi, Makoto Taniyama, Nozomi Tomizawa, Marcus Thurgate, Arata Ueda, Souta Wada, Kohei Wakita, Shodai Yamada & Jun Yamashita

17-year-old Marcus Thurgate is already on a two-week placement program, which started from Mar 20th, 2018, with Maribyrnong Sports Academy (MSA) in Melbourne.
