Hong Kong T20 Blitz franchise team, Hung Hom JD Jaguars have completed their signings of overseas players for the upcoming 3rd edition of the T20 League. Similar on the lines of defending champions Kowloon Cantons, JD Jaguars are also happy with signing 5 players to add up to their domestic quota of 11 players.
Jaguars welcome back their signings from the 2017 edition, Darren Sammy from West Indies & Johan Botha from Australia. Botha will double up as the assistant coach for the franchise as well.
The new signings include Roelof van der Merwe of Netherlands, Chris Lynn of Australia & Rikki Wessels from England. Chris Lynn has been currently left out of Australia’s ODI squad due to injury and Jaguars would hope for him to recover before the Blitz commences from Feb 06th until 11th, 2018.
“Having both Sammy and Lynn in the same eleven is any coach’s dream,” said team coach Afzaal Haider. “Not only will they help the team perform well, but they will surely be an inspiration for all the other players, who could hopefully take from their work ethic and the way that they carry themselves.”
“Our team is comprised of a perfect combination of youth and experience, as well as local and international talents,” said captain Kinchit Shah. “As captain, I will have the special pleasure and privilege of working with the strengths of each player to lead our team to victory.”
JD Jaguars have been able to secure good number of sponsors ahead of the 2018 edition of Blitz from Kerry Hotel, Player Layer and Cali-mex.
