Jersey, who won ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 5 in Sep 2017 in Benoni, South Africa will end their 7-month break as they head into their next ICC event, WCL Division 4, to be played in Malaysia at Apr-end. Both Jersey and Vanuatu qualified from that tournament and will be coming up against stronger opponents in Division 4.
Jersey have announced the 14-member squad that will take part in the 6-Nation tournament featuring host’s Malaysia, Bermuda, Denmark, Vanuatu and Uganda to compete for top 2 spot to qualify for ICC WCL Division 3 later this year. Charles Perchard will be leading the squad which includes experienced players in Peter Gough and Benjamin Stevens and also young talents in Jonty Jenner and Harrison Carlyon.
In order to prepare themselves for the tournament, the squad will play 6 practice games, which will include matches against Kent 2nd XI and Hampshire 2nd XI before matches against Singapore as well lined-up for the players to get valuable game-time in the middle.
