Jersey Women to tour England to play against Middlesex and Sunrisers

Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) Women’s national squad is all set to tour England to play T20 matches against the likes of Middlesex Women and Sunrisers franchise EPP squad on 29th and 30th of July 2021. After their scheduled Inter-Insular T20I series against Guernsey Women did not go ahead on 24th and 25th July due to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions.

The squad will play against a Middlesex Women Select XI in a T20 match, which will be played as the inaugural edition of the Brooks Macdonald Cup at the NPL Ground, in Teddington on 30th July 2021. The squad will also play against a Sunrisers (Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Franchise) EPP squad and a Middlesex Women’s Select XI side in a round robin tournament of T20 cricket at the same venue on 29th July 2021.

The matches will become part of the bigger collaboration between the JCB and Middlesex Cricket Club, as four national squad players came over to UK in May/June 2021, and took part in a training and S&C (strength & conditioning) camp organized by the club for their Women’s U-18’s and the Sunrisers Academy. Brooks Macdonald CEO, Andrew Shephard said in the official press release “We are proud of both our long running relationship with Middlesex Cricket and our recent sponsorship of Jersey Cricket, and we wish both teams the very best of luck for this friendly competition.”
