Joyce withdraws from Scotland I-Cup & Afghanistan ODI series

Ireland’s senior pro, Ed Joyce has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland squad for the upcoming ICC InterContinental Cup clash with Scotland and the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, following after that.

As reported by Cricket Ireland website, Joyce had suffered a reaction to his ongoing knee problem following last week’s warm weather training at the European Cricket Performance Centre in La Manga, Spain.

John Anderson has been named as the replacement for Joyce in the squad, which is subject to ICC approval. Anderson is currently playing grade cricket in Tasmania.

An integral part of the Irish ODI and 4-day/First Class/Test set-up, Joyce had returned to domestic cricket in Ireland following his release from English County club, Sussex.

Ireland face Scotland in Dubai in the four-day game starting on November 29, followed by the ODI series against Afghanistan in Sharjah on December 5, 7 and 10.
