Botswana Cricket to host 7-nation Kalahari Women’s T20I Tournament in April
Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) will be hosting the third (3rd) edition of the Kalahari Women’s T20I tournament from April 06th – 11th, 2026 at the Botswana Cricket Association Oval 1 and Oval 2 grounds in Gaborone. The tournament is getting bigger in scale this year, with seven (7) Nations having confirmed their participation, that includes the Defending Champions from Sierra Leone, who won against the host’s in the Final of the previous edition held last year.
BCA will be hosting the Women’s National teams of Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Sierra Leone and Brazil in the seven (7)-team tournament, with all teams set to play against each other in a single round-robin group stage format, followed by the Final between the top two (2) teams in the points table. For Brazil Women, who have travelled to Kigali, Rwanda for two (2) editions of the Kwibuka Memorial Women’s Tournament previously, make their first-ever apperance in a tournament hosted by another ICC Africa Associate member. They are also scheduled to take part in this year’s Kwibuka Memorial event as well in Rwanda.
