Kathmandu and Team Chauraha look to secure Final spot in DPL2

After rain played spoilsport on the last two days of group phase action in RUSLAN Dhangadhi Premier League 2, the top 4 team’s in the points table made it to the play-off’s and qualifiers phase of the tournament.

Kathmandu Goldens still remain unbeaten in the completion as they face Team Chauraha Dhangadhi in the first Qualifier, who edged past Mahendranagar United on the account of more wins as MU’s last two matches were washed out by rain and both teams finished on same points with MU having better net run-rate than Team Chauraha.

CYC Attariya, too benefitted from rain washing out one of their group matches as the one point was more than enough to finish 4th in the log. They would have anyways beaten Biratnagar Kings for the spot on the basis of net run-rate as well as both teams recorded equal number of wins in the tournament.

All the teams have had issues with their batting department where not more than 2 or 3 players contributing heavily towards the eventual team total. Bowlers in this tournament have been the mainstay and will definitely continue in the same manner in the qualifier and eliminator as well.

All the teams on 10th Apr 2018 will be keeping one eye on the weather as a rain-curtailed match could become a disadvantage for the team plans in place and after one full week of action, the fans and players alike, would like to have more on-field action in the play-off’s.
