Kuwait Cricket selectors have announced the 14-member squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Western Region T20 tournament, to be held in Kuwait from 25th Nov – 03rd Dec, 2018.

Kuwait will be competing against Bahrain, Maldives, Qatar & Saudi Arabia in the 5-nation tournament. If ICC takes into account the results of past 2-3 years for deducing their ICC Men’s team T20I rankings in the first quarter of 2019, then all the results of this tournament will factor a lot in the eventual rankings for all the nations involved, as was done for the Women’s team T20I rankings released by ICC.

With Kuwait and Qatar also slated to take part in the ICC World T20 Asia regional finals in 2019, this tournament will provide some crucial match-time for the players, who will not get too many International matches in the run-up to the World T20 regional finals.

The national squad was selected from the list of 30 probables, from which the remaining 16 players will be part of Kuwait “A” squad for future development.

Kuwait Squad for ACC Western Region T20:

Mohammad Ameen (Captain), Ali Zaheer, Arjun Makesh, Deepak Muralidaran, Diju Xavier, Fiaz Ahmed, Hamoud Jandu, Haroon Shahid, Imran Ali, Kashif Sharif, Pradip Wasantha, Ravija Sandaruwan, Usman Waheed & Yasir Butt
