Nepal national squad member Sandeep Lamichhane has been officially re-signed as an overseas professional player for Big Bash League’s franchise, Hobart Hurricanes for BBL||11 for the 2021/2022 season.
Lamichhane took eight wickets across all eight matches in which he was available for selection, finishing with best figures of 2/24 in the previous season for the Hurricanes. He had played in 20 matches in BBL prior to that from 2018, picking up 26 wickets at an average of 19.80 for Melbourne Stars.
Lamichhane becomes Hurricanes first international player signing for KFC BBL|11 and joins contracted players Scott Boland, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Peter Handscomb, Caleb Jewell, Josh Kann, Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Mitch Owen, Joel Paris, Wil Parker, D’Arcy Short, Matthew Wade and Mac Wright in the squad.
Sandeep will be available for the entire duration of Big Bash season, if there are no sudden scheduling of International matches or series for Nepal. He will be next seen in action for Nepal in September 2021, when he takes the field against the likes of Papua New Guinea, Oman and USA in ODI matches.
