Leicestershire Foxes sign Afghanistan’s Nabi for 2018 Vitality Blast

English County T20 franchise, Leicestershire Foxes have signed Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi as the club’s overseas player for Vitality Blast in 2018. Nabi will join Pakistan international Muhammad Abbas as the two overseas players for the club, who have won the T20 competition earlier, when it was known as Natural T20 Blast.

Nabi is a proven T20 specialist in the global T20 arena with a strike rate at almost 140 (International) with the bat and has claimed 61 wickets (Personal best of 4/10), at an impressive average of 24.80 per wicket with his off-spin bowling.

Nabi has scored 2191 T20 runs (combined domestic and International) at an average of 21.91 with an overall strike rate of 139.28 and has snared 182 wickets at 20.58 apiece. His economy of under 7 an over in T20’s will be an asset for Leicestershire, who have been struggling site their bowling unit for past couple of seasons.

Nabi had successful spell recently with Melbourne Renegades in the 2017/2018 KFC Big Bash and will again play for SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, after they picked him up in the 2018 IPL player auctions held in Jan 2018. He is also drafted in the recent Caribbean Premier League (CPL) player draft as well.

Currently in Zimbabwe with Afghanistan’s National squad for 2018 ICC World Cup Qualifiers, Nabi has been the mainstay site the bat so far in the 2 group matches for Afghanistan.
