Luxembourg Cricket Federation (LCF) have announced the summer schedule for the Men’s national squad in the months of June and July 2022, which will see the team competing in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe sub-regional qualifiers in the final week of July. The team will also compete in bi-lateral and multi-nation events prior to travelling to Finland to compete in the sub-regional qualifiers.
Luxembourg Cricket will host the Men’s team from Switzerland for a 2-match bi-lateral T20I series and a friendly game on June 11th and 12th, and will then travel to Czech Republic to take part in the annual Central Europe T20I Cup in Prague from July 08th – 10th, 2022. The team will then travel to Finland to compete in sub-regional group B from July 24th – 31st, where they are placed alongside Guernsey, Austria, Bulgaria and Slovenia in one of the two groups of the 10-nation qualifiers.
The 21-member squad for the matches/series has been announced for the 2022 International matches, and the players were chosen based on Fitness training sessions and trial matches held during May. The 4-member selection panel consisted of Madhu (Manager and Chair of Selectors), Rutvij Thumar and Arvind Pandy and Joost Mees (National squad Captain). The 2022 domestic season in Luxembourg is currently being planned to take place in April and early May and will give the opportunity for players to stake claim on the spots in the National Men’s squad for the tournaments.
