In a serious display of stroke making and a gentle reminder to all T20 leagues across the globe, Scotland’s Calum MacLeod smashed a 58-ball century to guide Derbyshire to their first win in the English Vitality Blast North Group with a 31-run win over Northamptonshire at Wantage Road.
MacLeod’s second T20 century (104 off 61) with 13 fours and four sixes took Derbyshire to a commanding total of 211/2 in their 20 overs. Derbyshire bowled out Northants for 180 in their chase to register the win.
💬 MacLEOD: “I’m delighted first of all that we showed some character and got our first win.

MacLeod was also part of the 126 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket with Wayne Madsen, which set the tone for a big total on board. He also had a good day out in the field with two catches to his name.
MacLeod’s Scotland teammate and Captain, Kyle Coetzer didn’t have a good one on the day as he got dismissed without scoring to Hardus Viljoen.
MacLeod has been in tremendous batting form since ICC World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe after brilliant knocks against Afghanistan and in the recent one-off ODI win over England.
