Malaysia Cricket continue to remain resilient amidst pandemic woes

Although the whole country is still under an alarming grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, Malaysia Cricket is standing tall amidst the challenge and stay resilient with their grassroots development program, Cricket Adiwira in collaboration with Yayasan Sime Darby.

Dinesh Muthuraman said “Cricket Adiwira , – a grassroots programme we put our faith in, has yielded the numbers beyond our belief. From the month of June onwards, we registered a total of 6,439 students from all over the country. There were 622 trained teachers on board to coach these students on this simplified version of cricket that is safe for children of all ages. A proud feat indeed.

The online programmes are lively and engaging. From here Cricket Malaysia has a clear pathway in place that will enable the best players to represent Malaysia while receiving a formal education right to a degree or vocational programme. And, if they choose too, there will be opportunities of a career in cricket for interested individuals.”
