Cricket Canada to host GT20 Canada in July/August 2023

The third (3rd) edition of the Global T20 Canada (GT20 Canada) tournament will be held from July 20th – August 06th, with the organizers and Cricket Canada announcing that the event will take place this year at the Brampton Sports Park facility. After the first two (2) editions took place in 2018 and 2019, the past few years saw a postponement due to COVID-19 pandemic globally, and a recent funding from Ontario provincial government has played it’s part in getting the tournament back into the domestic calendar of Canadian cricket.

All the six (6) franchises (Winnipeg Hawks, Toronto Nationals, Vancouver Knights, Brampton Wolves, Montreal Tigers and Surrey Jaguars) will have a total of sixteen (16) players in their squad that includes two (2) marquee players, three (3) Canadian National team members and three (3) emerging Canadian players. A total of twenty-five (25) matches will be played in the tournament, including the round-robin group stages and knock-out games. The Organizers have also announced a global list of broadcasters for both TV and online streaming that includes the likes of Indian Sub-continent (Star Sports and Fancode), United Kingdom (Free Sports), Canada (CBC), Middle-East (Bein Sports), Australia (Fox Sports), South Africa (SuperSport) and Rest of the World (Kwese Free Sports and DAZN).
