Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) will be hosting the Men’s National teams of Thailand and Bahrain for a T20 International (with ICC team ranking points) Tri-series tournament from November 24th – 01st December 2025, which will be known as the Mini SEA Games. Bahrain Men’s team will be travelling to Malaysia after the completion of their bi-lateral tour of Indonesia for T20Is, and will travel to Bhutan after the completion of this Tri-series and the T10 tournament following thereafter, for a bi-lateral tour for T20Is in December 2025.
For Malaysia and Thailand Men, this series will be a preparatory opportunity, ahead of the 2025 South-East Asia (SEA) Games in December 2025 in Thailand. Bahrain have a healthy 7-1 head-to-head record against Malaysia in T20Is, but Thailand and Bahrain have met just once in T20Is till date, with Thailand winning that game in Doha in November 2024. With SEA Games featuring medal categories for both T20I and T10 formats, the T10 matches after the completion of the T20I event will definitely be handy to prepare for the category at the Games.
