Maldives will be making their maiden appearance in an ICC Global tournament as they will take part in the 2020 ICC World Twenty20 – Asia Sub Regional Qualifiers (Middle East), to be hosted by the Kuwait Cricket Association (KCA).
Maldives will be competing against Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Bahrain in the tournament, to be held between 20th – 27th Apr, 2018 at Sulaibiya Cricket Ground and Entertainment City Cricket Ground in Doha.
Top 3 teams will advance to the Regional Finals (Asia) from the 6-nation event. Maldives national squad will be travelling to Sri Lanka in Apr 2018 for a preparatory tour before the qualifiers.
