Malta Cricket to host 6-Nation Men’s Valletta Cup in May 2022

Malta Cricket Association (MCA) have announced that they are going to host the Men’s Valletta Cup T20I tournament from May 10th – 15th, 2022 at Marsa Sports Club ground. The 2022 edition of the tournament will be held at a bigger scale, with MCA set to host Men’s teams from five (5) European Associate member countries.

The tournament will see teams from Bulgaria and Gibraltar returning again to compete, following their participation in the 2021 edition of the event. Czech Republic and Hungary (who did not send the National squad and matches involving them were not played with T20I status), who took part in the 2019 edition, have also confirmed their participation this year, while Romania are set to make their debut in the competition.

Czech Republic won the 2019 edition, while host’s Malta won the 2021 edition (which saw Switzerland Men’s team make their T20I debut following their re-admittance with Associate membership status during the 2021 ICC Annual General Meeting in July).
