The Manenti brothers, Benjamin and Harry, will be available for selection for the Italian national squad, when they take the field in the European qualifiers for 2024 T20 World Cup. They were denied the opportunity to do the same in 2020 as the event was postponed owing to Covid19 pandemic woes swooping across the globe. Add them to the squad along with the likes of Gareth Berg, Wayne Madsen and Grant Stewart, and Italy will be fielding an experienced line-up on the field, as they look to claim one of the two (2) qualification spots on offer in the tournament in Scotland.
Ben and Harry currently hold Italian passports, due to their grandmother’s country of birth and residence, and will follow the likes of Michael Di Venuto and Joe Scuderi, who have represented Italy in the past. While Harry has already made his Italy debut in the ICC CWC Challenge League pathway program in the 50-overs format, Ben will be donning the Italian colors for the first time in International cricket during the week of July 20th – 28th.
