Malaysia Cricket announce men’s squad for Nepal T20I Tri-series tour

Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) have announced their 14-member men’s squad for the upcoming tour of Nepal towards March-end to take part in a Men’s T20I Tri-series involving the host’s and Papua New Guinea (PNG). MCA have been preparing the players at home through domestic tournaments/matches, that included the first phase of MCA T20 Super Series held at the Kinrara Oval behind closed doors from March 03rd – 17th, 2022. The squad will continue their stay in Nepal as they will also take part in the inaugural edition of T20 Pro Club Championship in Bhairahawa from 08th – 16th April 2022.

The T20 Super Series is being played with safety protocols in place due to the global Covid-19 pandemic with strict implementation of standard operating protocols (SOP). Three teams, namely Hitters, Warriors and Strikers, have been competing in the tournament.

Among the national squad players, Syed Aziz Syed Mubarak, Virandeep Singh, Ahmed Faiz and Anwar Arudin have been performing consistently with the bat, with all-rounders Sharvin Muniandy, Dhivendran Mogan and Mohammad Nazril Abdul Rahman and bowlers in Fitri Sham, Pavandeep Singh and Syazrul Izat Idrus also looking forward to the International assigments, having performed heavily in the domestic competitions in the past couple of years.
