While the nation is trying to resolve it’s internal issues and crisis that has started ever since the disappointment in ICC World Cricket League Division 2 in Namibia in Feb 2018, Cricket Kenya have received some good news in the form of an official tour by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in October 2018.

MCC will be touring Kenya from Oct 04th – 15th, 2018 to play a series of matches against the National side/U19 and few regional sides. Three players from English County Cricket Club, Kent, have been selected in the 13-member squad along with Jersey national squad and MCC young cricketers squad member, Jonty Jenner.

MCC played against Kenya in a single match during their tour of Tanzania and Kenya in 2017 but this tour will be solely focused on Kenya.

MCC Schedule for tour of Kenya:

05th Oct 2018: vs Kenya Kongonis CC at Nairobi Club (30 overs)
06th Oct 2018: vs Kenya Select XI at Simba Union Club (50 overs)
07th Oct 2018: vs Rift Valley Invitational XI at Rift Valley Sports Club (40 overs)
11th Oct 2018: vs Kenya U19 (T20)
12th & 13th Oct 2018: vs Kenya at Nairobi Gymkhana (2-day match)
14th Oct 2018: vs Kenya at Nairobi Jaffery Sports Club (50 overs)
15th Oct 2018: vs Kenya (T20)

Marylebone Cricket Club Squad:

Joe Barrett, Tom Coldman, Callum Haggett, Jonty Jenner, Will Jones, Tom Lace, Will Phillips, Miles Richardson, Adam Riley, Adam Rouse, James Scott, Seren Waters & Jack Williams

Kenya will be competing against Oman, Denmark, Uganda, Singapore and USA in Division 3 to try and regain their spot in Division 2 by finishing in the top 2 at the end of the group matches. The matches against MCC will provide the national squad much required game-time in the middle before the ICC tournament.
