In yet another feather being added in his cap, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi has been signed up by BBL|07 franchise, Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming 2017/2018 KFC Big Bash League in Australia.
Nabi is currently ranked in the top 3 all-rounders on the ICC’s T20 Rankings and will join the Renegades for the start of the campaign. Nabi and Renegades other overseas recruit, Dwayne Bravo will join the squad in time for the first match against the Hobart Hurricanes on December 21.
Mohammad Nabi and Kieron Pollard will replace Sunil Narine, who has withdrawn from the tournament for personal reasons. Pollard will take over the overseas duties from Nabi during the later half of the season.
It will be first time experience for Nabi in Australia’s T20 league and with Rashid also signed up by Brisbane Heat, there will be lots of Afghan supporters expected to witness the games at the grounds for Melbourne & Brisbane.
