Cricket Ireland have announced a Wolves tour of South Africa in Feb 2020, where they will play a T20 and OD series against Namibia.
Ireland Wolves squad will play five T20 matches from Feb 18th – 24th, followed by two OD (50-overs) matches on 26th & 27th Feb, and concluding the tour with another 50-over match on 29th Feb 2020 against a local side. All matches will be played across SuperSport Park in Gauteng and Irene Villagers Cricket Club ground in Pretoria.
Namibia will be hosting Netherlands in a ODI/T20I home series in Mar/Apr 2020, and this tour of South Africa will be the perfect start to their season after an impressive 2019, where they secured ODI status and a place in 2020 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
South African-born Curtis Campher, 20, has been added to the Wolves squad for the 50-overs matches, after declaring his intention to pursue his cricket career in Ireland, and has joined YMCA Cricket Club in Dublin in Dec 2019 and also handed an emerging player contract by Cricket Ireland.
