Nepal selection committee comprising of Jagat Tamatta, Venkatpathy Raju & Paras Khadka selected the 14-member squad, which will represent the country in the upcoming 2 WCL Championship matches against UAE in the latter’s own turf in the desert.
While both UAE and Nepal have already been relegated to ICC WCL Division 2 in Feb 2018 in Namibia, the 2 matches will help both the teams in preparation for the upcoming Division 2 tournament. The matches will take place on the 6th and 8th of December at Sheikh Zayed International Stadium in Dubai.
In preparation for the WCL matches, Nepal will play a warm-up 50-overs match against USA, who will also be on their tour of UAE & Oman on 01st Dec.
A notable omission from the tour squad is Anil Sah, who had a successful ACC U-19 Asia Cup tournament with both bat and ball. Shakthi Gauchan and Sharad Vesawkar make their comebacks after withdrawing from Nepal’s previous tour of Hong Kong in Oct 2017 due to injury & illness. U-19 Asia Cup captain Dipendra Singh Airee and rising leggie, Sandeep Lamichhane will be once again expected to perform well to guide Nepal to victory against the Emirates team.
