Nepal ended their preparations for upcoming WCL matches on a high as they defeated Kenya by 6 wickets in the 3rd match of the Tri-nation tournament involving USA.
Nepal bowlers put up a much improved performance as they bowled out Kenya for 110 in 33 overs before reaching the target scoring 112/4 to register victory. However, the low scoring matches will worry both Nepal and Kenya before their crucial WCL matches against UAE and Scotland respectively.
Paras Khadka, Sompal Kami, Basant Regmi and Gyanendra Malla sat out for the match against Kenya to give the less experienced players another go to showcase their skills.
Lalit Bhandari picked up 4 wickets for Nepal while Sandeep Lamichhane accounted for 2 scalps. Nepal’s chase was mainly due to the 76 runs partnership for the 5th wicket between Sharad Vesawkar (31 n.o) and Dipendra Singh Airee (46 n.o), who ensured their were no more slip-up’s after Nepal were down to 36/4 at one stage of the match.
