Nepal U19 and Hong Kong U19 will be competing in the final of the U19 Asia Cup eastern region qualifiers for the lone qualification spot into the main draw of 2019 ACC U19 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
However, both the countries have qualified for the 2020 edition of the U19 Asia Cup by reaching the final of the qualifiers in Malaysia, as per the original scheduling announced by Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have earlier announced that United Arab Emirates will have the hosting rights for 2020 ACC U19 Asia Cup, to be played in Nov 2020.
U19 team’s from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be joined by three qualifiers from Western and Eastern region tournaments held in 2019. There won’t be any separate qualifier held for the 2020 edition of the tournament.
The Top 2 nations from the Eastern region qualifiers and the winner of the Western region qualifiers in 2019 will join the main draw of the tournament. Bangladesh hosted the 2018 edition of the tournament, which was eventually won by India U19.
The 2019 ACC U19 Asia Cup will be hosted by Sri Lanka in Jul/Aug 2019.
