Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) will be hosting Women’s National teams of Netherlands and Thailand for a T20 International (with ICC ranking points) Tri-series (WT20I Triangular series) tournament from 30th January – 08th February, 2025 at the Tribhuvan University International cricket ground. The series will mark the first-ever meeting in Women’s T20Is between the teams of Netherlands and Nepal, and is crucial for Netherlands Women in terms of gaining ICC ranking points and be in contention for an ODI status spot in the 2025-2029 ICC Women’s World Cup pathway cycle. Thailand Women have already qualified for the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier and by virtue of which, have retained their ODI status for the next cycle as well.
For Nepal Women, it will be an excellent opportunity to play against teams, who are not only ranked higher than them but also currently have ODI status and get to play against full member countries during ICC Global event qualifiers (T20 World Cup or Cricket World Cup). All the three teams will play each other in a triple round-robin group stage format, following which the top two (2) teams in the points table will meet in the Final.
