PM Cup T20 tournament to prepare Nepal players for Global Qualifiers

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) have announced the groups and match schedule for Men’s Prime Minister T20 Cup from January 10th – 19th, 2022. The tournament, which is usually played in the 50-overs format will now be played in the T20 format to provide preparations for players and also form the selection process towards national squad for Nepal ahead of the 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup Global qualifiers in Oman in February 2022.

The tournament will see 10 teams competing for the title with five teams each in two groups in a single round-robin stage format, at the conclusion of which the top two teams from both the groups will advance to the semi-finals stage. Tribhuvan University ground and Mulpani ground will be the two venues to be used during the tournament, with T.U ground to host the semi-finals and finals of the competition.

Currently, the national squad probable’s are taking part in a preparatory camp at the Tribhuvan University ground, which is being overseen by the new Men’s national squad coach, Pubudu Dassanayeke.
