A 16-member men’s senior squad has been announced by the selection committee of Nepal for their upcoming tour of United Arab Emirates from Jan 25th – Feb 03rd, 2019.
Following the successful talks with Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and ICC’s approval, this will be Nepal’s 2nd tour after their earlier visit to England & Netherlands in Jul/Aug 2018, where they played a T20I and 2-match ODI series against Netherlands. The senior squad’s final assignment in 2018 remains their participation in the 2018 ACC Asia Cup Qualifiers in Malaysia, where they did not fare well.
Paras Khadka will once again lead the national squad, in what will be a crucial year for Nepal, with ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia regional finals and possibly, the Global qualifiers in the offing, along with the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 championship from Jul 2019.
The squad will play 3 ODI’s and T20I’s each against UAE at the ICC Academy grounds, following which they will complete the quota required to get their official ICC team rankings in both the 16-nation ODI Team rankings table and T20I Team rankings.
